‘This is toxic’ – Fans react as people burn Mumbai Indians jersey as they name Hardik Pandya as Captain for IPL 2024
Mumbai Indians team franchise recently gave a shocking announcement as they declared Hardik Pandya as the new captain of Mumbai Indians while replacing Rohit Sharma for the IPL 2024. Notably Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat after the closure of the retention window and 26 November for an undisclosed sum of money.
The news did not sit right with the fans of the most successful team franchise of the tournament and they did not give a positive response to this transition of captaincy. Many fans openly criticised Mumbai Indians’ decision while others burned the team Jersey as an expression of disapproval of the change of captaincy.
Hardik Pandya was announced as captain of Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season

Mumbai Indians have always been blessed with exceptional leadership right from Sachin to Harbhajan and Ricky to Rohit, who while contributing to the immediate success have always had an eye on strengthening the team for the future. It is in keeping with this philosophy that Hardik Pandya will assume captaincy of Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season.”
