Top 5 Comebacks in the History of Indian T20 League
4. Royal Challengers Bangalore, 2011
In the first three seasons of the Indian T20 League, the Bangalore franchise has been tagged as the Test squad. In 2011 they made a complete revamp in the squad after retaining only Virat Kohli from the previous team. They roped in Daniel Vittori, Ab de Villiers, and Tilakaratne Dilshan who were one of the best in the T20is at that time. However, the batting unit failed to put in runs in the first half of the tournament resulting in them being at the bottom of the table.
Meanwhile, their fate changed as they roped in Crish Gayle as a replacement for injured Drik Nannes. Gayle scored 100 in his first game against KKR and changed the fortunes for Bangalore. They won all seven games in the second half of the league finishing top on the points table. They eventually played finals against Chennai where they failed to hold their nerves and lost the final games.
