 Virat Kohli calls news of building cricket pitch in his farmhouse in Alibaug fake

Former India skipper, Virat Kohli has called the reports of building a cricket pitch in his farmhouse in Alibaug fake. Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma had recently purchased an expensive eight-acre land in the plush Alibaug area near Mumbai. The property is near Zirad village and costs approximately Rs 19.24 crore. The dimensions of the land are approximately 2.54 acres and 4.91 acres respectively.

Kohli and Anushka recently went to their farmhouse in Alibaug to check on the details of the construction of their farmhouse. According to reports, Kohli is set to build a cricket pitch inside his farmhouse. However, the right-hand batter  has denied the reports by posting an Instagram story where he wrote: “Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (The newspapers which I have read since childhood, have also started publishing fake news).”

Virat Kohli ends his overseas century drought

This is not the first time that he has taken to social media to slam the fake news. Earlier, he took to social media to assert that the reports regarding his earnings is fake. The news stated that the 34-year-old earns Rs. 11.4 crores per single sponsored post through Instagram. He took to Twitter and clarified this news by refusing this news.

The star India batter was last seen playing in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series against West Indies. Although, in that match, he did not get a chance to bat. In this tour, he also ended the overseas century drought in the second and final Test match of the series which was played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, in Trinidad.

The batting icon would be next seen playing in the Asia Cup 2023. The 16th edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to kick start on August 30. The first match of the tournament is set to be played between Pakistan and Nepal at Multan, in Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently announced a 15-member squad for the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup. The last edition of the Asia Cup was won by Sri Lanka which was played in the United Arab Emirates.
