Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Portugal suffered an upset as they lost to Morrocco in the quarterfinal of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. The European side lost 1-0 and their dreams of winning a World Cup shattered once again. This was possibly the last chance for Ronaldo to help the side lift the title for the first time. However, the dream has now diminished and Morocco will play its maiden semis.

Meanwhile, former India cricket team skipper Virat Kohli posted a heartwarming message for the Portugal star. The former wrote that no trophy or title can take anything away from what Ronaldo has done on the field. Kohli added that the 37-year-old is a god-gifted person and plays his heart out in every game.

“No trophy or any title can take anything away from what you’ve done in this sport and for sports fans around the world. No title can explain the impact you’ve had on people and what I and so many around the world feel when we watch you play. That’s a gift from god. A real blessing to a man who plays his heart out every single time and is the epitome of hard work and dedication and a true inspiration for any sportsperson. You are for me the greatest of all time. @cristiano,” Kohli wrote along with a picture of Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a free agent

After the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022, the Portugal player will act as a free agent in the various leagues that will resume. His contract with Manchester United has been terminated after a ‘mutual consent’.  It all started with Ronaldo ripping apart the club in an interview with Piers Morgan.
