Watch: AB de Villiers makes an emotional return to Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore
The Indian Cricket Board has announced the deadline to all the Indian T20 League franchises for submitting their 15-man squads ahead of the mini-auction. Notably, the mini-auction for the next edition of the cash-rich tournament is slated to take place on 16th December.
As per the latest developments, it has been understood that the auction might take place outside the nation for the first time in the history of the league.
Ahead of the mini-auction, Bangalore franchise’s legendary cricketer, AB de Villiers has arrived in India.
The franchise also took to Twitter to announce his arrival in India.
“I am here to have a chat with the RCB guys about this year’s IPL,” de Villiers said in the video shared by the franchise.
Recently, another video has gone viral where the South African cricketer marks his arrival at the Chinnaswamy stadium. In the video, De Villiers could be seen taking a stroll to the boundary ropes of the stadium. AB de Villiers boasts of a massive following in India and a small glimpse of him is cherished a lot by the fans.

His new role at the Bangalore franchise is yet to the confirmed, however, his presence is enough for the fans to get excited. De Villiers played his last match for the Bangalore franchise in the 2021 edition of the tournament.
AB de Villiers is one of the biggest contributors to Bangalore’s success in the Indian Premier League. He has served the franchise for many years and has played the second most number of matches for the franchise after Virat Kohli. During his stint, he won the franchise a number of matches with his batting masterclass.
His best season with the bat came in 2016, where de Villiers smashed 687 runs at an average of 52, including one century and three fifties.
