Watch: Australia fielder caught using unparliamentary language during third Test against South Africa
In the ongoing New Year’s Test between Australia and South Africa, the game has been heavily impacted by the unforeseen weather. Over the period of four days, the game was either partially washout or fully (on Day Three). The ongoing Day Five of the game is the only day when the game is set to get completed fully. However, despite all of this, the home team found an excuse to have some fun.
After the Proteas was asked to follow, the team came out to bat to save the Test and avoid a whitewash. Meanwhile, the team’s skipper, Dean Elgar got on the thigh facing his opposite number. After this, the ball got stuck to the upper part of the batting pads. While the left-hander was moving toward his left to gather himself, Matt Renshaw was caught using unparliamentary language.
Apparently, the short-led fielder, Renshaw rushed to take the ball. After taking the ball and passing it a fellow fielder, he was heard on stump mic saying ‘I wasn’t going to touch something else’.

Meanwhile, talking about the game, the Aussies won the toss and batted first. After playing for the first two rain-impacted days, they amassed 475/4 with Usman Khawaja (195*) getting close to his double hundred. However, after the third day was completely washed out, Pat Cummins decided to declare the innings on the overnight score. After all, almost half of the day was washed out due to rain.
They tried to have a chance at winning the game and imposing a whitewash on the visitors. After losing six wickets, it looked like the Dean Elgar-led side has found another way of losing the game. However, thanks to the lower order’s persistent and Sarel Erwee’s blockathon after the follow-on, the former World Number One side managed to salvage a draw. After the horrific tour, this is the best result for South Africa so far in the series.
