Perth Scorchers Women and Sydney Sixers Women recently encountered each other for the 18th match of the women’s Big Bash League on 31 October, Tuesday at the Western Australian Cricket Association Ground in Perth, Australia. Perth Scorchers won the toss and chose to bat first to put a high score on the board. 

Perth scorchers put a decent score on the board as all the batters collectively put runs together. No batter came close to scoring a half-century, and the team scored 166 runs at the end of 20 overs with the loss of eight wickets. 

Perth scorchers’ opening batters Chloe Piparo and Beth Mooney had a good partnership as they scored 20 and 32 runs off 14 and 25 deliveries with a strike rate of 142.86 and 128.00 while hitting 2 and 5 fours respectively.

Alana King was awarded the player of the match

The middle order batter Alana King powered up the team score at the eighth position in the batting order and scored 33 off 14 balls with a strike rate of 231.71 after hitting 4 fours and 1 six. Ashleigh Gardner and Linsey Smith took a three-wicket haul and two wickets respectively to save the team from conceding additional runs. Alana King was about to score one more huge six as Erin Burns restricted it with her magnificent fielding.

Sydney Sixers Women failed to chase the decent target of 167 runs in 20 overs and Perth Scorchers Women won the game by 36 runs. The team’s opening batter Ellyse Perry became the highest scorer for the team in the match by scoring 59 runs off 48 deliveries with a strike rate of 122.92 as she hit 10 boundaries. 

Ellyse Perry failed to get the support from any other batter in the team and all of the batters scored under 20 runs. Alana King was awarded the player of the match for her powered innings for Perth Scorchers women in the low order.
