Watch: Fans absolutely thrilled to meet Arshdeep Singh after successful outing in Warm-up game
Recently, India’s left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has emerged as an option to bowl in the slog overs. During the Asia Cup 2022 and the T20I series, he did well in the slog overs. This is one of the positives for Men In Blue which has been struggling with death overs. Since the continental tournament, the team has been struggling to defend totals or found it hard to contain the flow of runs while blowing first.
In the midst of all this, Singh bowled a magnificent spell in the warm-up game against Western Australia. During the game, the left-arm pacer took three wickets for six runs after bowling three overs. This resulted in India winning the game despite another death overs specialist Harshal Patel having another bad day with the ball. After the game, the fans caught the 2018 U19 World Cup winner and asked for his autograph.

Talking about the game, India batted first and scored 158/6. Former skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain KL Rahul were rested for the game. Rishabh Pant was given the opportunity to open the innings and get some runs under his belt. However, he failed to do so. Skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik had a poor game. Deepak Hooda got a start but couldn’t convert it into a big score.
The team was rescued by in-form Suryakumar Yada, who scored52 off 35 balls including three fours and as many sixes. In reply, the home team had a poor start as Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar shared two wickets each. The team couldn’t recover from this despite Sam Fenning’s 59 runs. They went on to lose the game by 13 runs. Now, India will play two more warm-up games, one each against Australia and New Zealand in Brisbane on October 15 and 17 respectively.
