The 20-20 World Cup 2022-bound India players are currently in Perth and are preparing for the showpiece event. Recently, they won a warm-up game against Western Australia (WA) in the capital city (Perth) of the state (WA). Meanwhile, on October 11, India’s premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya turned 29 years old. The team decided to celebrate his birthday in the sky.

The team’s designated finisher, Dinesh Karthik started recording the video inside their private jet. In the video, skipper Rohit Sharma was heard saying C****** in an amusing way. The video was captioned ” Celebrating birthdays on ground was too mainstream so we took it to the sky.” The video has gone viral on social media. It has gotten more than 184,000 likes and counting.

In the midst of the players chilling in Australia, they need to address a few key issues before the showpiece event. First of all, they need to finalize the right replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. He has been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami are the front runners to replace Bumrah.

However, Shami hasn’t had any match practice while Siraj played a few games in the white-ball series against South Africa. Talking about Shami, he tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the T20I series against Australia. He recovered post the series and was seen bowling n the nets and training on his home turf, Amroha. On the other hand, Siraj had a decent series in the ODI series against the Proteas. The right-arm pacer took five wickets in three games. It will be interesting to see who replaces Bumrah.

Apart from this, India will play two warm-up games, against Australia and New Zealand in Brisbane on October 15 and 17 before going into the World Cup. On October 23, the Men In Blue will play against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
