Jos Buttler is going through a purple patch with the bat in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022. Buttler has hit 491 runs in seven games, including three hundreds in the season so far. Thanks to his performances, 2008 winners Rajasthan are sitting on the third position in the points table with five wins in seven games. Meanwhile, the franchise has uploaded a video of Ashwin and Buttler having a ‘rapid-fire’ round.

In the video, Ashwin asks Buttler how many runs the latter will score if he comes to bowl. “So, I am going to bowl one over to you in the nets. Six balls, no no-balls,” says Ashwin.

In reply, Buttler said “No Mankading” while Ashwin said that it won’t be possible as the batter will be on the other end. Further in the video, Ashwin asked the wicketkeeper-batter from England about Ashwin’s first impression.

“What was their first impression,” asked Ashwin.

In reply, the 31-year-old said that the off-spinner is the real thinker of the game. He added that Ashwin is always thinking about improving his bowling, “I can’t mention what my very first impression was. I’d say the first impression is of a ‘real thinker’ of the game. You study the game and have a lot of knowledge about it. Always thinking to improve your bowling or different ways you can bowl,” said Jos Buttler.

Buttler  then asked about the first impression of himself on Ashwin to which the spinner replied saying that he thought of Buttler as a calm person. “I just always felt like you’re going to be this really calm and switched-off person when the game is done,” said Ashwin.

Notably, Ashwin mankaded Buttler when the former was leading the Punjab team way back in 2019. The incident attracted a lot of controversies with some favoring Ashwin while others siding with Buttler.
