Former and present members of the Chennai franchise came together to celebrate the 65th birthday of Dwayne Bravo’s mother. When celebrating the team’s first home victory against the Lucknow franchise in the Indian T20 League 2023 season, Bravo posted videos on Instagram of several players wishing his mother a very happy birthday.

The former Chennai franchise all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo has retired from all forms of cricket and is now acting as the bowling coach of the MS Dhoni-led side in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League (ITL). He has been closely working with youngsters like Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Simarjeet Singh. After losing their opening fixture against the Gujarat franchise by five wickets, the Chennai franchise is locking horns with Lucknow in the sixth fixture of the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League at the M.A. Chidambaram, in Chennai on Monday, April 3.

MS Dhoni presided started the celebrations and invited Joycelyn Bravo, Bravo’s mother, to have the cake. On her behalf, he promised to put some cake on Dwayne’s face. “All my mum wanted this year for her birthday was a Chennai win. She got the most perfect gift we won. Congratulations to my team and teammates on a great victory. Now help me wish my champion mummy a Happy 65th Birthday. Best wishes and lots of love from her champion son and the entire Chennai Super Kings team,” Bravo wrote on his Instagram account.

The 41-year-old played a quickfire knock of 12 runs off just three balls he faced in the last over which included two brilliant sixes. With these two sixes, he completed his 5000 runs in Indian T20 League and became seventh, overall, to do this in the cash-rich league. The Chennai franchise will be locking horns against the Mumbai side on Saturday, April 8 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
