Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian to win the Diamond Trophy
Speaking of the video, Neeraj Chopra was seen doing the puja. Then, he performed a Garba dance with some of the members at the event. Neeraj also waved his hands to the crowd from the stands as the crowd was chanting his name loudly. However, due to an injury, Neeraj missed the Commonwealth Games 2022 in England.
Speaking of his recent performance, Neeraj became the first Indian to win the Diamon trophy. He threw 88.44m to win the prestigious trophy in the finale of the Diamond League series in men’s javelin. Meanwhile, Neeraj managed to create that history ahead of Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch and Germany’s Julian Webber. With that win, he completed the full set. In his career so far, Neeraj has won the Olympic Gold in 2021, the Asian Games Gold in 2018, the Commonwealth Games Gold in 2018, and the World Athletics Championships silver in 2022.
After winning this trophy, Neeraj Chopra opened up about his experience. “Yeah, all those [other ones mentioned] were gold, but this is silver. So there is a hunger inside to change the colour of the medal at the upcoming World Championships. But very happy to have completed the collection. There is one more title I rate highly, that’s the Diamond League, it’s an important event for athletics. Happy now that a long wait for a medal here is over.” he concluded.
