Brazil met Uruguay in the CONMEBOL or the South American qualifiers. During the match star forward Neymar Jr left the field. After he went down holding his leg after awkwardly landing on his foot while fighting for a ball right before halftime.

The forward left the field with a knee injury and he was taken out of the pitch on a stretcher. Richarlison came on to replace him. At the end of the match, he was seen leaving the field with crutches. The official confirmation of the seriousness of the injury is yet to arrive from Brazil‘s Medical Team hence, the specific area of his injury is still unknown. Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said after the game that the player had already undergone tests and more tests would be done on Wednesday.

His injury record has been worse and he will not be able to see the field again any time soon. He was criticized by fans in the previous World Cup qualifier because of his poor performance in last week’s Thursday 1-1 draw against Venezuela. The video of his injury has gone viral on social media.

All the honor and all the glory will always be yours, my Lord: Neymar Jr

After leaving the stadium, Neymar posted on Instagram that “God knows about all things. All the honor and all the glory will always be yours, my Lord. No matter what, I have faith.” Lasmar said, “These 24 hours will be important to see how the knee will respond, how will be the swelling. Imaging tests that will define a definitive diagnosis. It’s too early to say [if it’s a ligament injury]. Let’s wait for the exams calmly, evaluate calmly, and as soon as we have a definition we will let you know.”

Brazil captain Casemiro told Globo television, “Let’s hope it’s nothing serious. He’s an important player for us, we’re very fond of him. He’s been suffering a lot from injuries and when he starts to pick up the pace he gets injured again.”
