WATCH: Peter Drury calls Harsha Bhogle his ‘hero’ during Europa League final between AS Roma and Sevilla

After Sevilla defeated AS Roma 4-1 on penalties on Wednesday to win the trophy for a record-extending seventh time, Jose Mourinho, who had never lost a Europa League final, had to settle for his maiden runners-up medal. The game went into extra-time with the same score after the first 90 minutes of football finished in a 1-1 draw.
When the World Test Championship Final 2023 takes place in London the following week, renowned sports commentators Peter Drury and Harsha Bhogle will finally be working together. During the UEFA Europa League Final on Wednesday night, the Englishman made the same statement.Sony Sports Network posted Peter Drury’s conversation with Adriande Lmonte, in which he confirmed his connection with Bhogle, on social media. During the open discussion, the well-known British commentator also referred to Harsha Bhogle as his “hero”.

Where and how did it all started?
It all started when a fan tweeted Bhogle to see whether he would be interested in meeting Drury. The well-known Indian cricket commentator stated his wish to meet him sometime. Fans were attracted to this encounter right away, which built excitement for the subsequent meeting. Jim Beglin, another well-known commentator, noticed the fans’ passion and stepped in to organize the meeting.
Beglin claimed that either Bhogle or Drury would have to go to England or India due to the logistical challenges of getting the two commentators together. He did, however, acknowledge that he would discuss the suggestion with Drury. The suspense was further increased when Bhogle announced that he will be at the Oval for the World Test Championship final. Beglin took notice of this and said he would be happy to accompany Drury to the stadium and set up a meeting between the two respected communicators.
Because of Bhogle’s unmatched cricket commentary skills and Drury’s poetic flare in football, fans are eagerly anticipating this convergence. When two or more recognisable superstars from different verticals come into touch with one another, sporting worlds sometimes have a tendency to clash. This past weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix, when icons like Maria Sharapova, Yuvraj Singh, and Neymar were present on the same circuit, other comparable interactions took place.
