Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been out of cricketing action for quite some time now because of the injuries he sustained in a car accident. The Delhi-born cricketer survived the car accident which took place last year in the month of December, where the car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.

Pant got a lot of injuries due to the accident and underwent knee surgery as well. After the surgery, he is recovering well at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Recently, he was seen batting during a recreational event on India’s Independence Day. The event was organized by Delhi Capitals’ co-owner Parth Jindal’s company, JSW. In a recent viral video, Pant was seen coming out to the pitch and smashing sixes at the bowlers.

Rishabh Pant has made significant progress in his rehabilitation: Indian Cricket Board

Pant used his feet really well as he smacked sixes during the game. Along with the fans, he would also be happy as the car crash affected his knee the most. Pant is recovering well and he recently went to a sporting facility near Bengaluru to participate in the Independence Day celebrations organised by the JSW Foundation.

“Once you keep growing older, you stop loving the game. One of the reasons is that there is a lot of pressure; you want to excel in life and do this and that. But enjoyment nahi miss karna hein life mein, (Don’t miss enjoyment in life),” Pant said in a video shared by Sangita Jindal, chairperson of JSW Foundation.

The Indian Cricket Board gave a fitness update on the former Delhi Capitals batter. “He (Pant) has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running,” Indian Cricket Board was quoted as saying in a statement.
