Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli had the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru going crazy. The 35-year-old picked a rare ODI Wicket during the game against the Netherlands on Sunday.

India and the Netherlands were playing the 45th and final group game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Sunday. The Dutch had been asked to chase a massive 411 runs to win their third game of the tournament.

The Indian team scored 410 runs thanks to masterful centuries from Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. Rohit Sharma and his team are set to the group phase unbeaten after winning all nine games so far.

There was a huge cheer from the capacity crowd in Bengaluru as Rohit Sharma tossed the ball to Virat Kohli. The 35-year-old got a rare wicket for India when he had Scott Edwards caught by KL Rahul for 17.

The incident happened in the 3rd ball of the 25th over with Virat Kohli sliding a ball down the leg side. Scott Edwards got a faint edge as KL Rahul took an easy catch and celebrated. Chinnaswamy fans let out a roar as Virat Kohli celebrated with the rest of his teammates.

Netherlands lost Wesley Baressi early when he was out caught by KL Rahul off Siraj for 4. Max O Dowd and Colin Ackermann added 61 runs for the 2nd wicket as Kuldeep Yadav got Ackermann out LBW for 35. Ravindra Jadeja then joined the party to get rid of Max O Dowd bowled for 30.

Bas De Leede was batting well on 12 when he got a searing Yorker from Jasprit Bumrah knocked over his off stump. Rohit Sharma kept ringing in the changes as he threw the ball to Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav.

Speaking about Virat Kohli the former India skipper scored 51 runs from 56 balls to continue his good form with the bat. The huge crowd in Bengaluru had come to witness Kohli possibly score the 50th ODI century. Roelof Van Der Merwe who has previously played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore got the big wicket of the former Indian skipper.
