On 24 September 2022, Roger Federer played his last-ever match in the Laver Cup as he decided to retire after that. It was his last match with another Tennis great, Rafael Nadal in a doubles match. However, they lost the match against Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is currently busy playing a three-match T20I series against South Africa at home.

Now, a video went viral where the former Indian skipper was seen sharing a heartfelt message for Roger Federer. In the video, Kohli said that the former Swiss international will remain the greatest of all time forever for him. The video went viral as ATP Tour shared that on their Twitter account.

Here is the shared video:

‘And for me, you’re always going to be the greatest of all time.’ – Virat Kohli on Roger Federer

Speaking of the video, Virat Kohli recalled the incident when he met with Federer at the Australian Open in 2018. He said: “I personally had the chance to meet you in the Australian Open in 2018, something that I’ll never ever forget in my life. One thing that stood out for me even watching you play, was the fact that so many people around the world, not just in the world of tennis got behind you, supporting you, and that kind of unity I’ve never seen for any other individual athlete ever. That is something that cannot be created, that cannot be generated in anyway.”

Virat Kohli added: “You had that special ability always. It was very evident when we watched you play and the aura you brought on the court is unmatchable. And for me, you’re always going to be the greatest of all time. I’m sure in the next phase of your life you’re going to have as much fun and as much enjoyment as you did on the court. I wish you all the best and your family as well. Take care.”

Speaking about Virat Kohli, he has been enjoying a good run of form since the Asia Cup 2022. Now, he is busy playing the South Africa series at home. On 2 September 2022, he will be in action for India for the second match of the series.
