Watch: Virat Kohli’s ‘Pooja-Paath’ comment resurface post former India skipper’s visit to Rishikesh Ashram
At this point, former India skipper Virat Kohli and his wife and Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma are on a spiritual break. The former was rested for the ongoing three-match T20I series against New Zealand. He will return to the game for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series, starting on February 9. Meanwhile, as the couple was busy serving food to the saints (Bhandara), an old video of Kohli has been going viral.
Even though the timeline of the video is not clear, it is certain that it was from one of the World Championships in the last few years. In the video, the right-hander was heard asking whether he looks like a person who is religious. Notably, in the last few months, the fans have seen his religious side. Not to forget, when he went on a break after the horrendous England tour and preceding poor series, the Delhi player was seen traveling across religious places.
Also, after the Men’s 20-20 World Cup 2022, the 2008 U19 World Cup-winning skipper was seen in an Ashram. Ahead of the ongoing calendar year, he famously visited Neem Karoli Baba.
Do I look like the Pooja-Paath Type? Virat Kohli
“Do I look the pooja-path types? (Do I look like I do prayers and worship?),” leaving the entire room in splits.
“When I started, a lot about me was wrong. I was the tattoo guy, the one who wore stylish clothes. It is very easy to focus on the negative stuff but I choose not do that. The basic thinking is I want to improve as a cricketer every day. I make sure I do all the hard work and hope it pays off one day. I back myself to go out there and win the game.
“As a cricketer, you don’t have a long career. For me it is an opportunity. Once you get addicted to it (performing), you want more and more of it. You work so hard and you want that satisfaction,” Virat Kohli had said.
