After winning the first match of the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan, India locked horns with Hong Kong. However, they won the match by 40 runs. Thus, India sealed their place in the super four. Suryakumar Yadav scored 68* runs off 26 balls in that match and won the player of the match award.

Meanwhile, after the match former India batter Gautam Gambhir heaped high praises for this star Indian batter. He also said that Surya should bat at the number three ahead of the former India skipper, Virat Kohli. During that conversation, Suryakumar Yadav came from behind and hugged Gambhir. The video went viral on Twitter.

Here is the shared post:

“If Surya bats at number three, it will be better as compared to Kohli,” – Gautam Gambhir

During the post-match show on Star Sports, Gambhir said that it will better to consider Surya at number three compared to Kohli. He said: “I believe if Surya bats at number three, it will be better as compared to Kohli.”

However, when Surya came to meet him, Gambhir urged the anchor to tell him about the same. Then, he also said to Suryakumar Yadav that he should bat at number three ahead of Kohli.

But, the anchor said that Yadav has always said to be more flexible. In response to that, Gambhir said: Vo uski majboori hai (He is helpless).” Thus, Gambhir might take an indirect dig at Kohli through Suryakumar Yadav.

Speaking about the match against Hong Kong, India batted first and scored 192 runs for two wickets. Virat scored 59* runs off 44 balls also. But, Yadav hit six fours and six over boundaries. His 68* run innings helped India to reach the 192-run mark in 20 overs. He also smashed 26 runs in the last over of that match. In reply to that, Hong Kong managed only 152 runs by losing five wickets. Thus, India won the match by 40 runs. With that win, India qualified for the super four of this year’s Asia Cup.
