India and Pakistan collided on the cricket field on Sunday (August 28) at  Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In a humdinger of a match, the Men in Blue registered a 5-wicket win over their eternal rivals. Hardik Pandya was adjudged the Player of the Match for his sensational all-around performance.

Virat Kohli, who had made a comeback to cricket played a vital role with the bat against the Green Brigade. After losing KL Rahul in the first over, the ace-batter stitched a crucial 49-run partnership with skipper Rohit Sharma. Kohli was scratchy at the start and kept the opposition bowlers at bay and scored an elegant 35 runs off 34 deliveries.

The former Indian captain has been hogging the limelight for several reasons since he arrived in Dubai. Earlier the veteran batter was seen exchanging greetings with injured Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi. Then the 33-year-old’s humble gesture of giving his autographed jersey to Haris Rauf broke the internet. Now, there is a fresh video that has created a lot of buzz on the internet.

In the video, a teenage cricket fan was seen breaching the security and running towards the players for an autograph as the players entered the cricket stadium. To this, one of the guards held the kid and was taking him away. Kohli intervened and asked the guard to let the kid go. The 2008 U19 World Cup-winning skipper then signed an autograph for the kid and posed for a selfie. He has been lauded by the netizens for his heart-touching gesture.

The right-hand Indian batter has witnessed a dip in form in a recent couple of months.  The Asia Cup will be crucial for the ace-batter to gather form in the build-up to the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in October this year.

India will lock horns with Hong Kong on August 31 (Wednesday) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The defending champions would look to carry on with the winning momentum and become the second team to qualify for the Super Fours. Afghanistan has already for the next round following their win against Bangladesh.
