The second 20-20 match between India and South Africa brought about carnage for bowlers. The two teams combined to make 458 runs in 40 overs in what was a batting heaven in Guwahati.

All the bowlers, irrespective of their team, took to the bowling lineup to get hit into the stands. Everyone, except some, came away with a bowling economy of more than 9 with Arshdeep Singh going for 15.5 runs an over. India’s right-arm leg break bowler Yuzvendra Chahal was rested for the match and fortunately was spared from David Miller’s and Quinton de Kock’s batting masterclass.

The 32-year-old is among the funniest characters in the cricketing world and is often found cracking jokes with not just his teammates but even his opponents. A similar instance was captured on camera when the Haryana-born, came to the field during the drinks break in the second innings.

The funny moment that has now gone viral on the internet shows Yuzvendra Chahal, kicking South African player Tabraiz Shamsi on the back while de Kock and Aiden Markram stood around having energy drinks.

A high-scoring affair at Guwahati

As for the game, it was a comfortable win for India after they posted a humongous score on the board. With the help of Suryakumar Yadav’s 61 in 22 and KL Rahul’s 57 off of 28, India made 237/3 in the first innings.

The huge total proved a target too far for the visitors as they could only reach 221 in 20 overs. Miller and de Kock’s 174-run partnership scared the home fans a little, but the blushes were spared as India won the match by 16 runs in the end.

With this win, India has also clinched the 20-20 series against South Africa with the last match still to go. The third and final match of the 20-20 series is scheduled for 4th October in Indore. Three ODI matches will then follow starting on 6 October in Lucknow. The team for the ODI series will not feature players from the 20-20 series as they would be rested for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia.
