WWE legend Jerry Lawler sustained a stroke and was rushed to a hospital. TMZ reported that he was rushed to a Florida hospital and was treated for the stroke. Notably, the 73-year-old has had a history of sustaining such issues. The first time it happened to him in 2012 and six years later, it happened again. Meanwhile, ahead of the recent stroke, Metro.uk, Lawler was out for lunch with friends earlier in the day.

After the incident, Ricky Morton took to Twitter and posted “I hope my friend is going to be okay. I love you, Jerry. Please direct good vibes, thoughts, & prayers to Jerry at this time. Genuinely appreciate it & hope to hear good news in the very near future.”

Meanwhile, a new update has been posted from the official account of the WWE legend. It says that the legendary has been speaking less and but will recover after going through the rehabilitation process.

“His speech is limited, but with rehabilitation will regain a full recovery,” said the statement on his Twitter account, which was accompanied by photos of Lawler in the hospital with legendary manager Jimmy Hart. “He thanks everyone for the continued prayers and will be back in the near future.”

Lawler started with the then-WWF in 1992 as a commentator before he made his in-ring debut the following year with an entertaining program with Bret Hart. Lawler last appeared on WWE programming last month as part of a preshow panel ahead of the Royal Rumble.

Even in his 70s, Lawler has continued to occasionally wrestle on the independent scene. He most recently had a match with Scott Steiner in March 2022
