Bangalore Women

After two losses, Bangalore is still in fourth place on the Women’s T20 League 2023 standings and although they have not yet registered a win, the mood in the Bangalore camp is upbeat despite the two consecutive losses. The camp is fully rejoicing in the festival period. They are still not out of the playoffs race just yet but are desperate for a win in the next game.

The most recent of these losses was an embarrassing 9-wicket humiliation at the hands of Mumbai. On Tuesday, skipper Smriti Mandhana joined Richa Ghosh and Heather Knight in celebrating Holi as the pictures and videos surfaced through social media. The England captain Heather tweeted a photo of Richa and the above- mentioned players painted in colors, which Bangalore captain Smriti reposted on her Instagram stories.

What did Mandhana talk to the media about Bangalore’s consistent losses?

Mandhana reiterated in her post-game remarks that Bangalore would not dwell on the loss and would instead try to learn from it and move to the next match. While speaking to the media outlets after the game, the left-handed batter spoke about the importance of going on a winning run. “It is a pretty short tournament and we can’t dwell on it, even in franchise cricket if you start winning then you can go on a run.”

Games will continue to be played often because there are only five franchises left in the league, and on Wednesday, the Bangalore franchise is slated to play Gujarat. Like Bangalore, The Gujarat team have only played two games and have not yet opened their account.

Gujarat is still at the bottom of the standings due to a low net run rate after losing to Mumbai by a score of 143 runs on the first day and then to UP franchise by three wickets, allowing the game to get away from them
