2. Charu Sharma

Charu Sharma was requested by the Indian cricket board to step up as the auctioneer as Hugh Edmeades fell off unconscious due to postural hypotension in the auction of IPL 2022. The mega auction of 2022 was interrupted by the unfortunate incident. As a result, the event was halted for some time. Following this, Charu Sharma took over the proceedings and helped everyone to complete the auction. It was probably the longest session of an auction.

Sharma was helped by everyone who made the auction a success. After the collapse of Hugh, Charu made sure that the event was completed without any hiccups. In the process, Charu became the first ever auctioneer of Indian origin to be an auctioneer in one of the events. Though it did not last longer, Charu saved the day for everyone. By profession, Charu is a commentator, a Quiz master, and a compere. In the inaugural edition of the IPL, Charu was the director of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
