 3 Cricketers Who Chose India Over Pakistan In Their Career

The 15th edition of the Asia Cup is going to start on 27 August 2022. However, India will kick off their campaign on 28 August 2022 against their arch-rivals Pakistan. Global fans will be eager to see them in action after their last match in the last year’s T20 World Cup.

However, players from both these countries have always looked to deliver their best. But, there are some players who had the chance to play for both countries. They were born in Pakistan but they chose to play cricket for India only. These Pakistan-born players also enjoyed playing for both these countries in their careers. 

Here are the three such players who chose India over Pakistan for their cricketing career

Amir Elahi

This player was born in Lahore on 1 September 1908. However, he ended up playing for both these countries. Amir Elahi made his international debut for India in 1947. He played just one Test match for them. It was against Australia. After India’s independence, he went to play for Pakistan. Amir played five matches for them where he scored 82 runs. He also took seven wickets. His last Test match was against India on 12 December 1952 at the age of 44. In 1950, he became a citizen of Pakistan.
