Deepak Chahar proposed to girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj, in 2021
This incident happened during the Indian T20 League 2021. Deepak Chahar was playing for his Chennai franchise against Punjab. After the match, he went to the stands. There his girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj was sitting along with other Chennai players’ wives and girlfriends. So, Deepak got down on one knee and proposed to her.
Jaya also said ‘yes’ and thus they got engaged. As per the source, it was MS Dhoni who advised Chahara bout this whole idea of the proposal. A source from the team said: “Deepak wanted to do this during the playoffs as he thought it was a good moment considering they are important games. But it was skipper MS Dhoni who advised him not to wait for the perfect moment and go for it after yesterday’s game itself.” Meanwhile, they completed their marriage also on 1 June 2022.
