3 Players Gujarat might release ahead of Indian T20 League 2022
Gujarat benefitted by the all-round show of their skipper Hardik Pandya. However, they were left in search of a second proper batting all-rounder. This brings into the equation the second player Gujarat will look to release ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023.
2. Vijay Shankar: Gujarat bought Vijay Shankar for INR 1.4 Cr. They were hoping that Shankar will play the role of a middle-order batter and also a handy medium pace bowler.
But in the four matches that Shankar played he failed to live up to the expectations. He scored just 19 runs from the 4 innings at an average of just 4.75 and a strike rate of 54.29. If bowling is considered he just bowled 1.3 overs in the 4 matches and conceded 15 runs in them without picking up a wicket. Gujarat might look to find a better utility player to replace Shankar in the next season.
