The Ministry of Culture of India proposed a match between India and the rest of the world to the Indian Cricket Board on 15 August 2020 for celebrating the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign to mark 75 years of India’s independence. Though the whole matter is on the discussion stage as the Board secretary, Jay Shah, and President, Sourav Ganguly will discuss this proposal at the annual conference of the Governance body of cricket on 24 July 2020.

However, it is being tipped that Pakistan players will not be able to join the Rest of the World squad vs India to celebrate this event. There are certain reasons why they will find it tough to play this match on Indian soil. However, the Indian Cricket Board will also consult other Boards regarding players’ availability. Political tension between India and Pakistan is the main reason why Pakistan players might not be allowed to play on Indian soil. Due to political instability, India and Pakistan only play against each other in major tournaments like World Cups.

It also prevented global fans from watching this high-voltage clash on a regular basis. Even, earlier, the Afro-Asia cup was there where players of these countries were seen playing together. But that also got postponed after the political disturbance between India and Pakistan.
