World Test Championship, 2021
In the first edition of the World Test Championship, India qualified for the final against New Zealand. However, India lost the match by eight wickets. Still, Ravichandran Ashwin came up with good performance throughout that tournament. In the final, he took four wickets along with 29 runs with the bat over the two innings.
However, over the two years span, he became the highest wicket-taker for India in that tournament. He grabbed 71 wickets in 14 matches, at an average of 20.33. Ashwin conceded runs only at an economy of 2.62. Only, Australia’s Pat Cummins was behind him as he took 70 wickets in 14 matches.
