3 Unlucky Players To Miss Out From The Squad of Zimbabwe Tour
Team India is currently busy playing the five-match T20I series against West Indies. However, earlier this week, they came up with a thrashing 3-0 ODI series win over them. Now, on 30 July 2022, the Indian Cricket Board announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series in Zimbabwe. Three ODIs will be played from 18 August to 22 August 2022. However, there were some reports that Indian star batter, Virat Kohli might be on the team for this tour.
He is currently not available for the West Indies tour. But, Surprisingly, selectors have not picked him for this tour also. Star players like Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya have been given rest. Hence, Shikhar Dhawan will lead again after completing the ODI series whitewash on West indies. KL Rahul will also miss this tour. Apart from these players, there are three more players who are unlucky to miss the squad.
Players to miss out from the squad of the Zimbabwe Tour:
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
This veteran pacer is one of the candidates who also missed the squad for the Zimbabwe tour. In the recent T20I series against England and West Indies, Bhuvneshwar Kumar performed well while bowling in the powerplay overs. He helped India to get early wickets in those matches.
But, surprisingly, selectors have opted to not pick him for this upcoming tour. They chose a young bowling line-up with much less experience over him. His swinging deliveries could have been a boost to the available bowling lineup and Shikhar Dhawan in these three ODIs in Zimbabwe.
