As per reports, he was not a part of the squad in the last year’s World Cup due to fitness issues. He failed to match the basic fitness standards. Since then, he has played a lot of cricket in shorter formats around the globe.
His performance has been expectation also in respective leagues. Still, he is most likely to be not featured in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. During the recent ODI series against the Netherlands, reporters asked about Narine’s availability to the West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran. He said: What Sunil wants, I’m in no control of that. But that’s a conversation between him and the selectors – what his aspirations are when it comes to West Indies cricket.”
