In 2013, India and Sri Lanka met again in a tri-series final at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad. Sri Lanka set a target of 202 runs for India. However, India was in a spot of bother when they lost their fourth wicket at a score of 139 runs. Then, Dhoni met Suresh Raina at the crease.
But, India experienced a batting collapse as India lost their next five wickets for 43 runs only. Still, Dhoni managed to take the game to the last over where India required 15 runs. But, the former India skipper hit two sixes and a four in the first four balls as India won the final. MS Dhoni became the player of the match while Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the player of the series award for his 10 wickets.
