5 International Stars Who Owe Their Success To PSL
Despite not being as cash-rich and popular as the Indian T20 League, the Pakistan Super League is still one of the most loved cricket leagues in the world. Many overseas cricketers have been a part of the league since its start in 2015.
Many players have been able to perform well in the league which benefited them at the international level. Many players have been recognized in international cricket after their good performance in the PSL.
Let’s have a look at the Top five players who owe their success to PSL:
- Haris Rauf:
The 29-year-old pacer has played one Test, 18 ODIs, and 57 T20Is for Pakistan. Haris Rauf made his international debut in January 2020. Since then, he has taken 103 wickets across the formats. Rauf made his first appearance in PSL in the 2019 season for the Lahore Qalandars. He took 11 wickets from 10 games with an economy of 7.41. He has also done well in international cricket so far that made him one of the main fast bowlers for Pakistan.
- Mohammad Haris:
The young wicketkeeper batter from Pakistan made his PSL debut in the 2022 season where he got to play only five matches for Peshawar Zalmi, but still Haris caught the attention of the selectors by amassing 166 runs in five games with an impressive strike rate of 186.52.
He played a pivotal role for Peshawar that resulted in his inclusion in the Pakistan squad for the ODI series against West Indies in June 2022. He was also included in the squad for the 20-20 World Cup. Haris has played four ODIs and five T20Is for Pakistan so far.
