This veteran pacer was an integral part of the Indian squad during the last T20I match against Pakistan. However, he failed to take any wickets as Pakistan won that match by 10 wickets. He conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs in that match. But, since the last World Cup, he has completely lost his place in this format for India.
He has represented in other two formats for India recently. However, Indian fans were expecting to see him for the upcoming Asia Cup. But, Indian selectors and team management showed faith in the young guns ahead of him. It might also suggest that Shami is going to miss the final squad of India for the upcoming World Cup also.
