After drawing the home T20I series against South Africa, the Indian T20 Team is scheduled to play a two-match T20I series against Ireland at their home. Big-name players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah have been added to the Indian Test squad after their break from the International cricket. Players like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer have been added also as they were part of the South Africa series at home.

Hence, Hardik Pandya have been appointed as the captain of the side while Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be his deputy for this series. Young players like Rahul Tripathi, Umran Malik, and Arshdeep Singh have been added to the squad. This series will be a great platform for these players ahead of the mega event later this year in Australia. However, some players might still miss the flight to Australia for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

After having a great season with his Hyderabad franchise in the Indian T20 League, he was tipped to be part of the Indian squad for the T20Is against the Proteas. However, Rahul Tripathi was not picked up then. But, now he had received the maiden call-up to his Ireland tour.

He scored 413 runs in 14 matches at an average of 37.54. He will look to continue his good form for his country also. But, still, he might miss the chance of playing in the World Cup as other batters like Suryakumar Yadav, and Rishabh Pant will be more prioritized over him.
