5 Players Who Can Replace Jasprit Bumrah If He Misses Out Of The 20-20 World Cup Squad
After winning both the ODI and T20I series against West Indies, India is going to play three ODIs against Zimbabwe. This series is going to start on 18 August 2022. After that, India will kick off their campaign in this year’s Asia Cup. The Indian selectors already announced the final squad for that event along with three backup players.
However, on the eve of that announcement, India dealt with a major blow. The Indian Board confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will miss the Asia Cup due to some back issues. Therefore, he will not be played in this event to make him fully fit for the T20 World Cup, later this year. But, if he finally misses becoming fully fit for the World Cup, the Indian Board should look upon other options instead of him.
Here are the five players who can replace Jasprit Bumrah in the final squad of the T20 World Cup
Arshdeep Singh
This left-arm young pacer can be a good option for India if Jasprit Bumrah finally misses the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Since his debut for India, he has been performing well so far in his career. His death bowling skills were the talk of the town during his Indian T20 League days for his Punjab franchise.
It also earned him the first international call in the Indian colours. Even, in the recently concluded series against West Indies, he bowled in tight lines along with some wickets in crucial stages. Speaking of his career so far, he played six T20Is where Arshdeep picked up nine wickets, at an economy of 6.33 only.
