This all-rounder can be a front-runner to replace Bumrah in the T20 World Cup. However, in recent times, Shardul Thakur has lost his palace in the Indian Team, especially for the white-ball format. Even though, he played the last three-match ODI series against West Indies earlier this month.
He was the highest wicket-taker in that series with seven wickets in three matches. Shardul Thakur bowled at an economy of 6.25. Now, he will be in action again in the upcoming three ODIs against Zimbabwe. But, the Indian selectors have opted him out of the final squad of the Asia Cup.
