This player came into the picture when he performed superbly for his Kolkata franchise in his first season. However, he had a forgettable season for the franchise in this year’s competition. During that timeline, Venkatesh Iyer played 11 International matches for India. Among them, he represented nine T20Is and second ODIs.
In all those matches, he scored 157 runs in nine innings while he grabbed five wickets also. Despite doing the opening for his franchise, Team India tried him as an all-around option for his batting and bowling skills. But, he was also ignored from the WI tour as India’s prime all-rounder Hardik Pandya made a good comeback.
