This left-handed batter was another player who had a rumoured rift with MS Dhoni. However, Gambhir helped Dhoni to win both the World Cups in the T20I and ODI formats. He smashed two match-winning knocks in those two World Cup Finals. However, Dhoni also considered him for that rotational process during that Tri-series in Australia. After that, in many aspects, Gambhir commented which seems to be against MS Dhoni. However, he clarified such alleged rifts with Dhoni during a show on a YouTube channel. 

He said: “See I have so much mutual respect for him and it’ll always remain. See we can have differences in opinion, you might look at the game in a different way, and I might look at the game in a different way. I’ve got my own opinions, he’s got his own opinion. But I’ve got so much mutual respect for him, for the kind of person, the kind of cricketer he is,”
