Twitter Reactions: Punjab decimate Bangalore to get their Indian T20 league campaign off to a winning start

The third match of the Indian T20 League turned out to be a high-scoring one between Bangalore and Punjab.
Punjab’s new skipper Mayank Agarwal won the toss and decided to field first. Bangalore’s inning was started by Faf Du Plessis and Anuj Rawat. The pitch looked good from the very beginning and Faf seemed to have carried his form from the previous season into Indian T20 League 2022. He took his time and then launched into the Punjab bowling. He scored 88 runs from 57 deliveries with 7 sixes and 3 fours. Virat Kohli 941 off 29) played the role of an anchor and along with Dinesh Karthik finished the innings on a very strong note. Bangalore finished with a score of 205 runs from 20 overs.
Punjab began their chase of the huge total just the ideal way. The openers Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal scored 71 runs for the first wicket in just 7.1 overs. After Mayank was dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksha joined Shikhar Dhawan. The duo never let the required run rate slip out of hand. Harshal Patel picked up Shikhar Dhawan in the 12th over and the match looked in balance. Dhawan before going back to the pavilion scored 43 runs off 29 deliveries. A sensational 14th over by Mohammed Siraj turned the game on its head. Rajapaksha and Raja Bawa were dismissed for two consecutive deliveries. Rajapaksha scored 43 off 22 deliveries. After this Shahrukh Khan and Odean Smith did what they are in the team for. They finished the match off in style. Odean Smith was extraordinary under pressure scoring 25 runs off 8 deliveries and taking his team to a five wicket victory.
The bowling woes of Bangalore still continue and that has disappointed the fans. Odean Smith was a delight to the viewers but Du Plessis’ knock going in vain upset a section of the fans.
