 Shoaib Akhtar urges Indian Cricket Board for introducing a new league

Kashmir Premier League (KPL) is known as a professional T20 League as it gets administrated by the Pakistan Cricket Board. In the inaugural season of this tournament, eight teams battled it out and Rawalakot Hawks came out as the eventual winner. Former Pakistan pacer, Shoaib Akhtar is the peace ambassador of the tournament.

Meanwhile, he has come out now with a request to the Indian Cricket Board for introducing a new cricket league in Kashmir. He considered it as an opportunity for betterment for the people of Pakistan, especially Kashmir. A journalist from Pakistan also shared the full statement of this Pakistan Legend on his Twitter account.

Speaking in an exclusive chit-chat show, Shoaib Akhtar urged his nation also to support this league as there is a big reason behind it. He added that the Indian Cricket Board also should introduce a new league in Kashmire like this one. He said: “Pakistan should support Kashmir Premier League because the cause behind is big. As a peace ambassador, I would encourage BCCI to introduce a league in Jammu Kashmir likewise KPL.”

He also said the participation of all Pakistan people, will help his country in all other aspects. Akhtar added that he is still very confident in any role in life and that helps him to do anything with ease. This former speedster also shared his love for other sports than cricket like badminton, soccer, and hockey.

However, his main request was to support this Kashmir Premier League as it will be beneficial for both Pakistan and Kashmir people. Speaking about his playing career, Akhtar played 224 International matches across all three formats of the game. He managed to pick up 444 wickets during that timeline and his sheer pace was the main topic always. He still holds the record for bowling the fastest delivery (161.3 kmph) against England on 22 February 2003 in the World Cup.
