“What does he lack?” – Twitterati lashes out at the Indian Team Management for not including Sanju Samson in the playing XI of the first T20I against Ireland

Indian T20 side was scheduled to play the first T20I of the series against Ireland in Dublin ON 26 June 2022 (Sunday). It was a young Indian squad where new players like Umran Malik and Rahul Tripathi were added. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya became the captain for this series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was appointed the deputy for Pandya.
Speaking about the match, rain played spoilsport earlier in the match as the start got delayed. Hence, the match became a 12-over each contest where Ireland scored 108 runs by losing four wickets only. Harry Tector played a superb unbeaten knock of 64 runs off 33 balls at a strike rate of 193.93. However, debutant Umran Malik did not have a good outing in the match as he got smashed for 14 runs in one over.
In reply, Indian openers started in a hurry as Ishan Kishan (26 off 11 balls) took his Team to 30 runs in just 2.3 overs. Then, India experienced two back-to-back setbacks in the form of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav (Golden Duck). Then, captain Hardik and Deepak Hooda put up a solid partnership and Hooda remained unbeaten on 47 runs off 29 balls during the chase. India scored 111 runs by losing only three wickets with 16 balls to spare. Yuzvendra Chahal was the player of the match for picking up a wicket by conceding only 11 runs in his three overs. Being a captain, Hardik had a good game by contributing to all the departments of the game.
However, during the toss, Hardik won the toss and elected to bowl first. There, when he was asked about the playing XI, he said that Umran Malik had been added while there was no place for Rahul Tripathi or Sanju Samson. This decision of the Indian Team Management did not go well for supporters as they took on their social media platforms to show support for Sanju Samson.
