On 27 August 2022, the Trinbago franchise took on St Kitts and Nevis franchise in the ninth match of the new 6ixty league. Before this match, the Trinbago franchise wanted a win or to hit eight sixes to qualify for the semi-finals of this new league. However, Andre Russell came up with a big inning for his franchise as Trinbago won the match by three runs only.
Russell scored 72 runs off 24 balls, including five boundaries and eight sixes. It helped them to score 155 runs in 10 overs by losing only five wickets. However, they managed to defend the total. During the innings, Russell also smashed six sixes off consecutive six balls.

Speaking of the match, St Kitts and Nevis franchise won the toss and elected to field first. However, the Trinbago franchise scored 155 runs in 10 overs. Russell scored 72 runs off 24 balls only, at a strike rate of 300. Five bowlers from St Kitts and Nevis franchise took a wicket each. In reply, St Kitts and Nevis scored 152 runs by losing four wickets in 10 overs. Russell also took a wicket while defending that total. Sherfane Rutherford scored 50 runs off 15 balls, at a strike rate of 333.33. Along with him, Dominic Drakes also smashed 33* runs off 10 balls.
But, it was not enough for them to chase down the target of 156 runs. Meanwhile, with this win, the Trinbago franchise qualified for the semi-finals of the inaugural season of the 6ixty. They finished at the third position in the table with four points from three matches. Trinbago only won two matches among three. Now, they will take on the Barbados franchise on 28 August 2022 in the second semi-final. Fans also loved Andre Russell’s devastating innings.
