India locked horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in the UAE for their first match of the Asia Cup 2022. However, India managed to win the match by five wickets after a hard fight. Both teams displayed good quality of cricket. But, it was India who came out victorious in the end.

However, the Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah was also present there to watch this mega clash. But, he got involved in an unwanted situation after the match. His action was disrespecting the Indian flag while he was acknowledging India’s win. The video went viral and it got surfaced quickly all over the internet.

Speaking of the video, fans were celebrating India’s victory over Pakistan. Jay Shah was not an exception also. But, he was seen refusing to hold the Indian national flag. One of his fellow spectators offered him the national flag. But, he refused to take it. Fans did not find it well as they came out on social media platforms to criticize him.

However, later it got learned that Jay Shah is the current president of the Asian Cricket Council. Hence, he tried to show neutrality against all stakeholders. His action was completely as per the code of conduct of ACC.

Meanwhile, India kicked off their Asia Cup campaign with a thrilling win. Now they will be in action on 31 August 2022 against Hong Kong. Skipper Rohit Sharma lauded the team’s performance after the match. “That’s the kind of belief we want to have in this group, where you’re not in the game and you still manage to pull it off. We want to make sure they’ve all been given enough clarity around what to do in the middle. I’ll take wins like this over one-sided wins. Since Hardik’s comeback into this team, he’s been brilliant.” he concluded.
