It is often said that players and commentators/broadcasters must respect each other views and keep a calm head while dealing with each other. Over the years, one of them has refrained from giving any views targeting them. On the other hand, there have been instances criticisms haven’t been taken well, specifically by the athletes. A lot can happen in a sport that attracts criticism.
There are numerous instances when players have taken criticism well. However, we have filtered three instances of the aforementioned incidents. In all these instances, the players have hit back at the broadcasters brutally. There was a time when these incidents grabbed the headline. 1. Harsha Bhogle and Ben Stokes (2022)
Recently, renowned commentator Bhogle joined the bandwagon of the group supporting Deepti Sharma‘s Mankading. Apparently, Sharma ran out Charlie Dean to win the game. The incident has been the talk in the media ever since.
Harsha took to Twitter and urged the English media to step out of the colonial mindset. These comments didn’t go down well with England Test skipper Ben Stokes. He questioned Harsha’s choice of words while speaking on the issue.
