‘Unacceptable’ – Fans thrash Twitter as Rohit Sharma’s Hashtag with Pig Emoji surfaces

Rohit Sharma is one of the greatest in modern-day cricket. He has numerous achievements and makes batting look very easy. Last year, he took over the captaincy of the India Cricket Team after serving as the vice-captain for Virat Kohli. Under Sharma, the Men In Blue are yet to lose a bilateral series. The only team that came close was South Africa in June this year.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the Indian team’s preparations for the 20-20 World Cup 2022, a hashtag with Rohit Sharma’s name and a pig emoji surfaced on Twitter. It didn’t long before the netizens spotted the Hashtag which has been trending for a while now. The users have bashed the micro-blogging website to let such hashtag trend on its platform for a long period.

The trend was accidentally started by a sports website

After looking further into this, it was found out that the trend was boosted due to a mistake from a sports website. The website posted one of its new article links on the micro-blogging website for its readers. However, while posting, the Hashtag was used without realizing what it meant. However, the website has now posted an apology post.

It will be interesting to see whether the issue will be resolved or not. Meanwhile, Rohit played a few good knocks in a build to the World Cup in Australia. Recently, in a rain-curtailed game against Australia, he scored 46 runs with ease and command on a wicket that was sticky in nature. Also, in a game against South Africa, he scored 40-odd runs. The team will be playing two warm-up games before the SUper 12 round. In both games, the batters will look to get some form back.
