As for the match, the Lankan Lions got off to a slower start, trailing 36-2 after the powerplay. Kusal Mendis, the wicketkeeper-batter, found his rhythm there on and went on to score a scintillating 79 in 44 fours with four fours and four sixes. Charith Asalanka batted well as well, scoring 31 runs in 30 balls with three boundaries. Sri Lanka finished their 20 overs with a total of 162.

The Island Nation also managed to dominate early in the second innings, taking two early wickets. Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers, taking three wickets while conceding only 28 runs. Hasaranga and the other bowlers bowled brilliantly, limiting the Dutch to 146-9.

Sri Lanka was in trouble after losing to Namibia in the first game. Fans were taken aback as the Dasun Shanka-led team arrived at the tournament as Asia Cup champions. However, they turned things around and qualified for the next round. They will be back in action on October 23rd, when they face another qualifying team. The Netherlands, on the other hand, will be back in action on October 24 when they face Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka will play in Group A, along with Australia, England, New Zealand, Afghanistan and another qualifying team. The Netherlands will be in the same group as India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and a qualifying team from the first round.
