India will start their campaign of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in the Super 12 round against Pakistan. The 2007 champions are leaving no stone unturned ahead of the all-important clash. After all, the game will set the tone for the former champions, and also their fans are expecting them to win the game at any cost. Only a day is left in the game to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Meanwhile, ahead of the game, the team had a net session. In a video that is going viral, the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Shami sweated in the nets. During the session, Sharma was playing the proper cricketing shots while Karthik was busy playing his innovative shots. During the session, the stump mics picked a few words.

Meanwhile, ahead of the Pakistan game, the India skipper spoke to the media. During the interaction, he said that he doesn’t believe in the terms such as favorites and underdogs. The right-hander added that it is important for the team to have the right mindset before going into the ground. Sharma also pointed out the First Round games which have seen a lot of competitive games in the ongoing tournament. Teams such as Ireland, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka have qualified for the Super 12 round after the first round.

“I don’t believe in the terms, favorites and underdogs. If you don’t reach the ground with the right mindset on that day, you won’t be able to perform. Whenever we come into the World Cup, there’s outside talk about favorites and underdogs. The qualifier was the best example of how you need to focus on execution on that very day,” Rohit said in the pre-match presser when asked if India will head into the game as favourites against Pakistan.
