England leggie Adil Rashid had a dream spell in the ongoing final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 against Pakistan. He didn’t the best of tournaments with the ball during the Super 12 where he could only pick one wicket. Meanwhile, he drew some confidence after having a good game against India in the semis. Talking about the ongoing final, he started with a wicket of Mohammad Haris.

He went wicketless in his second over but bowled a dream over. In his third over, he bowled a sharp google to flummox Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. In the video that is going viral, the latter couldn’t read the googly sharply coming into him. The right-hander could only hit the white Kookaburra towards Rashid who took the catch diving forward.

Notably, after the wicket, the 2019 ODI World Cup winner bowled a maiden over with Iftikhar Ahmed, the next batter failing to get away. This is the best over by a fielding team among the two finalists at the time of writing. Talking about the game, the 2010 winners won the toss and elected to bowl first. At this point, it seems that the decision is proven right.

At the time of writing, they have taken seven wickets and held Pakistan at 137/8 at the end of the innings. Talking about the Green Brigade’s batting, they haven’t been able to build big partnerships and score fifties individually. The highest scorer for the team was Shan Masood, who scored 38. On the other hand, the likes of skipper Babar Azam (32) and Shadab Khan (20) got starts but couldn’t get far.

For England, in-form pacer Sam Curran took three wickets for 12 runs in four overs. Talking about others, Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan took two wickets each while Ben Stokes took one. It will be interesting to see if the 2009 winners can put up a fight. At the moment, Jos Buttler’s men are favorites to win their second 20-20 World Cup titles.
