‘Lambi race ka ghoda nehi hai’ – Former Pakistan cricketer’s bold statement on star India bowlers
India has given the cricketing world a lot of spinners like Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Bishan Singh Bedi, Ravichandran Ashwin, and many others. Three Indians are among the top 20 wicket-takers in international cricket history, with Kumble holding the fourth-highest record with 956 dismissals. Since 2012, India has been unstoppable in Test matches played at home thanks to their dominance in the spin. A former Pakistani cricketer, however, launched an unexpected attack on the Indian team, calling Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal two “horrible” spinners.
With his all-around performance in the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where Jadeja picked up 18 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls, and was named the Player of the Match in both fixtures. He has become the center of attention in Indian cricket. He is now the top-ranked all-rounder in the Test format in addition to being placed ninth in Test bowling rankings.
There is no force in his deliveries and cannot spin the ball much: Abdur Rehman
Chahal on the other hand is the most successful bowler in T20Is for Men in Blue. He has featured in 75 matches for team India in T20Is and has grabbed 91 wickets so far. He has also snapped 121 wickets in 72 ODI matches he has played for his team.
Former Pakistan cricketer, Abdur Rehman was asked which Indian spinner is the worst when talking on the “Nadir Ali podcast” YouTube channel. Despite initially refusing to respond, he later stated, “No spinner is bad if he plays for his country.” But, after host Nadir Ali persisted, he stated that Jadeja was a “pathetic bowler” to and became a great bowler under the supervision of former India skipper MS Dhoni. Afterward, he lauded Chahal, calling him a “terrible” bowler who makes it simple for batter to score runs.
“Jadeja jab shuru mein aya tha woh fariq spinner tha (When Jadeja had started his career, he was a pathetic bowler). Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, he was prepared in such a way that he is now a No.1 bowler. Chahal is also a horrible bowler. You can hit him easily. There is no force in his deliveries and cannot spin the ball much. Lambe race ka ghoda nehi hai,” Rehman was quoted as saying on Nadir Ali Podcast.
